The 2016 season of the International GT Open lived its final and emotional moment Sunday evening after the last race in Barcelona with the Awards Ceremony, held jointly with the Euroformula Open and the F. V8 3.5. The lively and friendly event was organized by our colleagues and friends at RPM in the majestic Institut nacional d’Educació física de Catalunya in the Barcelona Olympic Park at Montjuich. An emblematic venue, as it is located exactly on what was the straight of the old F.1 street track of Barcelona.
This year too, Carlos Gracia, Vice President of the FIA and President of the Spanish Motor Racing Federation (RFEA) honoured the event with his presence, among other personalities which included the President of the Catalan Federation (FCA), Joan Ollé.
Thomas Biagi and Fabrizio Crestani, the new 2016 Champions, received their trophies and the well-deserved ovation, along Fernando Monje and Gustavo Yacamán, the third classified, GT-Am winners Luis Silva and António Coimbra, and Teo Martín on behalf of the Team-winning squad BMW Team Teo Martín.
