BMW Team Teo Martín has completed the line-up of its other BMW M6 for the 2017 International GT Open, as it announced it will be Spain’s Fran Rueda pairing with Sweden’s Victor Bouveng. Both aged 20, the two young guns will form one of the youngest pairs in the series.
Uppsala-born Victor Bouveng has GT experience from the VLN series in 2016-15, after finishing 3rd in the VW Scirocco Cup in 2014. “It feels really good to do this season with BMW Team Teo Martín”, commented the Swede. “We have completed two great tests and showed that we can be able to fight at the top. Last year I drove the M6 in the VLN on the Nordschleife but this will be a bit of a new challenge with some new tracks and competitors. We have the right tools to fight for top positions which will clearly be or target for the year.”
Fran Rueda, from Málaga, has raced in F.4 and FR NEC 2.0, before shining in the SEAT León Eurocup and the Renault Sport Trophy, where he was a runner-up in 2016. "First of all, I would like to thank Teo Martín, Emilio de Villota and the whole team for their confidence, as well as my family and sponsor OBOE27.com for their support”, said the Spaniard. “Next week will be my first contact with the BMW M6 GT3, which I hope to be able to adapt quickly. This year the GT Open has a very high level field but the goal remains one: victory".
