Italian GT reigning champion Ombra Racing will make its return to the International GT Open this season. The Italian squad based near Bergamo has officially announced it will campaign the series with two Lamborghini Huracán GT3. Driver line-ups will be communicated in due course.
Ombra Racing chose the GT Open for its GT debut back in 2012, after a successful career with single-seaters. It competed in the GT Open until the end of 2014, with Ferrari machinery, obtaining numerous successes.
Team Manager Davide Mazzoleni commented: “After the great satisfaction of winning the Italian GT Championship, going back to the international stage was a natural objective for the team, and we are glad to do it in the GT Open, a series which has already given us victories and satisfactions.”
Jesús Pareja, CEO of GT Sport, stated: “We are extremely happy to welcome back with us Ombra Racing, a team of great professionalism and competitiveness, which will certainly be among the front-runners this season.”
