Ten days after being injured in the accident at the end of Race 2 in Monza, Alan Hellmeister is progressing well at the San Gerardo hospital in Monza. The Brazilian driver is in good spirits but has no recollection yet of the accident and can’t explain what occurred. He is well assisted by family members, including his fiancée and his mother, and other close people such as team mate Marcelo Hahn and personnel from the Drivex team and, who all have been extremely supportive.
According to the doctors’ plan, in the forthcoming days, Alan will undergo further surgery to treat the fractures in his legs. After that, towards the end of the month, it is envisaged to repatriate him to Brazil, where Alan will start the rehabilitation process.
In a message in social media, Alan’s sister, who had travelled with him to Italy and was at his side throughout the difficult moments, expressed: “Thanks to all for the support, the positive energy and the good thoughts. Now it is a matter of time and patience!”
From all the entire GT Open family and all of us at GT Sport, once again the warmest: “Muito ânimo, Alan! Estamos com você!”
