Tom Onslow-Cole kept faithful to his habit of signing the pole at every round this season. The Brit of SPS Automotive posted a time of 2.16163 in the dying minutes of the session.
He beat the Emil Frey Lambos of Albert Costa (by 0s106) and Norbert Siedler (by 0.261) and the Teo Martin McLarens of Ben Barnicoat (by 0s425) and Andrés Saravia (by 0s490), with Miguel Ramos (SPS Mercedes, -0s492) completing the third row.
Martin Konrad (HTP Automotive Mercedes), who topped the rankings in th initial laps, was fastest in Am and 8th overall.
The session was red-flagged after 10 minutes because of the accident of Giuseppe Cipriani (Antonelli Motorsport), who went straight (brakes problem?) at the first of the two Pouhon corners. No damage for the driver, as opposed to the car and the barriers. The latter required reparations for almost 1 hour, with the session shortened by 10 minutes when resumed.
