Salih Yoluc and Charlie Eastwood team up in TF Sport’s Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT3, to compete in the Pro class of the 2020 International GT Open. The announcement marks the return of the British squad led by Tom Ferrier to the GT Open, a series where they debuted with a one-off at Silverstone in 2014, taking victory in Race 2 with Fannin-Turner.
Yoluc and Eastwood have proven themselves to be a tenacious line up in the recent past. The Turkish-Irish duo took to the top step of the Pro-Am podium at the 2019 24 Hours of Spa and they have taken three spectacular WEC victories so far this season. Alongside Jonny Adam, Yoluc and Eastwood are currently sitting second in the GTE AM driver’s standings with three races to go, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
TF Sport and Yoluc made their combined GT Open debut in 2016 with the Turkish driver and previous teammate, Euan Hankey, in the #34 Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3. The team had a strong debut season in Pro-Am claiming a pole position at Monza, and three podium finishes including two wins at Silverstone and Monza respectively.
In contrast to the previous blue and yellow outfit, the team will be running the same striking red livery that adorns this seasons WEC machine.
Salih Yoluc: “I am very happy to be coming back to the GT Open championship, it has grown so much since I last competed in 2016. Charlie and I have shared many successes in the last couple of years, so I’m really looking forward to being out on the grid once again.”
Charlie Eastwood: “It’s great to be teamed up with Salih in yet another championship. He is one of the fastest GT AM drivers out there and has proved himself to be ultracompetitive in both GT3 and GTE PRO-AM classes, so it will be great to see him develop further as a driver within the PRO class.”
