Leonardo Pulcini set to race in the GT Open in 2022 after winning Lamborghini’s Young Driver Programme selection

Leonardo Pulcini is the winner of the 2021 Young Driver Program of Lamborghini Squadra Corse, which also announced officially that the 23-year-old driver from Rome will compete in 2022 in the International GT Open, with the objective of becoming a Factory Driver of the Sant’Agata brand.

Pulcini will follow on the footsteps of Giacomo Altoè, who won the YDP before joining the GT Open, which he won in 2019 together with Albert Costa.

This year’s selection of the Lamborghinis Young Driver Program, which is coordinated by an established GT Open star such as Raffaele Giammaria, involved thirteen drivers, who underwent intensive physical, mental and driving training and exams before a final track shootout at Vallelunga.    

For Pulcini, who won in 2021 the Lamborghini SuperTrofeo Europe, it will be a return to GT Sport-promoted weekends, where he left a mark by taking the Euroformula Open title in 2016 with Campos Racing on his way to GP3 and FIA F3.
