Greystone GT doubles GT Open entry with the Proctors father and son

16.03.2023

Greystone GT has announced the line-up of its second McLaren 720S for the 2023 International GT Open season. Lewis and Stewart Proctor will contest the European-based series alongside fellow McLaren pairing Andrew Gilbert and Fran Rueda.

The Aberdeen-based father-and-son duo is moving up from the British GT Championship, where they won the Silver-Am title in 2021. Lewis also raced in the GTWCE last year, taking one podium.

Lewis Proctor said: “Moving up to the International GT Open is extremely exciting, especially as it will be the first international series I’ve raced in with my Dad. The level of competition is high, so we all know we’ll have to raise our game to be competitive, but we both know the McLaren extremely well and we’ve already seen from the results that Greystone GT scored in the couple of rounds they did in 2022 that we have everything we need around us to score some good results.”

Mark McLoughlin, Greystone GT Team Principal, said: “I’m thrilled to be doubling our line-up in the International GT Open to two cars and to give Lewis and Stewart the opportunity to compete together internationally for the first time. Lewis is certainly a driver with a bright future and he was often one of the very fastest silver drivers in British GT last year. We proved last year that the McLaren has the potential to compete at the front as well so I’m confident we can perform strongly with Lewis and Stewart.”
