Balfe Motorsport proved it is back to the GT Open in style. The British team, with its new Audi R8 LMS, took pole ahead of Race 2, on a grey and humid morning at the Circuit Paul Ricard. Adam Carroll conquered his first pole with a time of 2.02.027 and after a great final battle with Andy Soucek and Ollie Millroy. Eventually the Inception McLaren was second-fastest only 0s095 behind, while the Lechner Porsche will share row 2 with yesterday’s winner, the Lazarus Bentley of Ivan Peklin.
In third row, the two cars of VSR, with Yuki Nemoto and Michele Beretta, while Jen Liebhauser (AKM Mercedes) was fastest in the Am class. Following the accidents in yesterday’s race, only the JP Motorsport McLaren could be repaired, with the Equipe Vitesse Mercedes and the Boutsen Lambo withdrawn from the event.
Race 2 will be the field of the GT Open and of the GT Cup Open Europe.
