Eastwood (TF Sport Aston) celebrates GT Open return with pole

In his return to the GT Open, reigning vice-champion Charlie Eastwood took pole ahead Race 2 in cool and foggy conditions this morning at the Red Bull Ring. The Irishman is the eighth different poleman in 10 races this year. At the wheel of the TF Sport Aston Martin shared with Sam De Haan, he stopped the clock in 1.28.072, half a second ahead of the competition.

“The car in GT Open-specs is a dream to drive and it was fun. The track had less grip after all the rain yesterday afternoon, but it was fun and I could put everything together since first attempt”, Charlie said.

Second-fastest was the Lechner Racing Porsche of Al Faisal Al Zubair, while in second row will be Karol Basz, who led a great part of the session in the Olimp Racing Mercedes, and championship leader Frederick Schandorff (VSR Lambo). Adam Caroll (Balfe Motorsport Audi) and Ollie Millroy (Inception Racing McLaren) took the third row, ensuring six different car brands in the top-6.
