After an excellent maiden full season in the International GT Open, Team GT has confirmed its participation in 2023 and the intention to double its presence with a second Mercedes AMG.
In 2022, the Bavarian squad netted three Pro-Am wins, one of which was also a sensational overall race win, at the Hungaroring, with Alain Valente (who took a final 5th in the Pro-Am standings) and Florian Scholze (7th).
The young Swiss and the experienced German will be again at the wheel of the first car next year, while the squad is working on fielding a second car in the series.
Team owner Bernhard Laber explains: “Overall, we are very happy with our very first season in GT3 racing. The whole team and Alain in particular put in a very strong performance. We proved that we can also keep up in GT3 racing. This motivates us a lot for the 2023 season. Our goal is now to win the Pro-Am class in the International GT Open with Alain and Florian!”
Commenting on the multi-series programme of the Team GT for 2023, Team manager Max Penner added: “We enjoyed our first season in the GT Open and felt comfortable in the series. The organizing team of the GT Open is responsive to our needs and wishes and thus tries to provide the best possible platform."
