Maiden pole for Charlie Fagg and the Optimum Motorsport McLaren

10.09.2023

Charlie Fagg in the Optimum Motorsport McLaren took his first pole of the year ahead of Race 2 later today at the Red Bull Ring. The Brit posted a lap time of 1.28.412 in the very last lap, beating Pierre-Louis Chovet (Oregon Team  Lambo), who had led most of the session, by 0s034.

Fagg was obviously happy after his performance: “It’s nice to finish first in qualifying after being second a number of times, and it’s nice for the team to resurge after yesterday’s issues. Let’s look ahead and focus on the championship.”

In second row will be another McLaren, the one of Greystone GT, with an excellent Lewis Proctor only 0s125 away from the top, and Reece Barr (SPS Mercedes, -0s178).

In third row, the Eastalent Audi of Christopher Haase (-0s201) and the AF Corse Ferrari of Eddie Cheever (-0s306), with gaps showing how close the qualifying session was. Giorgio Sernagiotto, in another of the AF cars, was fastest in Am.
