In its third appearance of the season, the al Manar by GetSpeed Mercedes took its second pole, as Fabian Schiller stopped the clock in 1.38.832 in this morning’s qualifying session at Barcelona. “We had some trouble yesterday, but today the car was mega. It’s very nice to be back in the GT Open with no pressure, this afternoon Al Faisal and myself will go for victory despite the 20-second handicap.”
David Fumanelli was second-fastest 0s205 behind and will start from first row with the Kessel Ferrari, while in row 2 will be the first of the championship contenders, Charlie Fagg (Optimum Motorsport McLaren, -0s387) and the CBRX by SPS Mercedes of Yannick Mettler (-0s734).
From row 3 will kick-off Karol Basz (Optimum Motorsport Audi, -0s768) and Albert Costa (-0s953) who partners with another of the title contenders, Diego Menchaca, in the Motopark Mercedes.
The third top title bidder, Simon Reicher (Eastalent Racing Audi) was eleventh, while Giuseppe Cipriani (Barone Rampante Lambo) was fastest among Am cars.
