As expected, the International GT Open contenders found very warm weather at the Circuit Paul Ricard for the two free practice sessions scheduled in the first day of Round 5.
In the combined results of the day, the Eastalent Racing Audi of Simon Reicher-Christopher Haase was the fastest car of the day, with a Time of 2.01.982 posted in the morning. It was followed by the two Lambos of Oregon Team of Leo Pulcini and debuting Amaury Bonduel (+0s385) and of Alessio Deledda-Jordan Pepper (+0s497), who posted the fastest time of the morning session.
Followed the GetSpeed Mercedes of Anthony Bartone-Fabian Schiller (+0s586), the Ferrari by Spirit of Race of Marco Pulcini and Riccardo Agostini (who replaces Eddie Cheever, +0s720), the Olimp Racing Audi of Marcin Jedlinski-Karol Basz (+0s796) and the Greystone GT McLaren of Andrei Borodin-Ollie Webb (+0s838), making it five different brands represented in the top-7.
The first ten cars were covered by one second, with the Mercedes of the debuting Polish outfit GoodSpeed ninth-fastest with Piotr Wira-Daan Arrow (+0s964).
The Mercedes of Kiki San Nana-Adam Osieka (GetSpeed) was fastest among Am cars and 22nd overall, while the AF Corse Ferrari of Marcelo Hahn took P1 in the Bronze test (2.03.595).
There were two no-shows among the 35 car entered, as the #65 Motopark Mercedes suffered damage in private testing last week and the #88 AF Corse Ferrari was withdrawn, as Gino Forgione is still suffering from rib ache after his crash in Budapest.
