Scuderia Villorba Corse will finish the GT Open season fielding a new top Pro-Am driver line-up for its home race. In the GT Open 500 the Italian squad will entrust its Mercedes AMG in a new black and red livery to Philip Ellis and Denny Zardo.
Switzerland’s Philip Ellis (32), a Mercedes works driver, has just been crowned last weekend GTD Champion in IMSA for the second time and has a vast experience in GT3 competitions around the world.
For Italy’s Denny Zardo (48) this will be a come-back to track racing and to the Villorba squad. He is a former Italian GT Champion (2006) and raced sportscars at the highest level (ELMS, FIA Sportscars and ISRS), being also known for his European and Italian titles in Hillclimb.
Raimondo Amodio, SVC Team Principal, commented: “It is for us a great pleasure to finish the GT Open season with a new line-up and to do it at home in Monza. Zardo is an old friend , with whom we have had a lot of success in the past, and Ellis a true top driver. For the entire team it will be a great honour to work with such a pair this weekend.”
